Representatives of the Port Governance Agency visited the port in the Hungarian city of Baja today. On this occasion, they exchanged experiences with the port's management on issues of importance for the improvement of the port sector.
During the visit, discussions focused on the importance of ports for the development of the economy and industry in the hinterland, and on projects aimed at "greening" port activities. The port of Baja is a public Hungarian port and serves as an intermodal logistics center, handling various types of cargo and providing container and ro-ro transportation.
A tour of the "green terminal” was organized, featuring a vessel for the reception and storage of hazardous waste and bilge water, as well as a facility for processing hazardous and non-hazardous waste. The Agency's representatives informed their hosts about the upcoming "Green Ports" project, which will introduce clean energy into Serbian ports and reduce the carbon footprint of water transport.
Further cooperation and exchange of best practices were agreed upon to help Danube ports achieve the goals of the "green transition."
