The Joint Secretariat of the Interreg Danube Program has officially approved the start of the DIONYSUS project on July 1, 2020. The Port Governance Agency will participate in the project as an IPA partner.
DIONYSUS is a continuation of the Interreg project DAPhNE, primarily through the work of the organization "Danube Ports Network", of which the Agency is a full member.
The partners gathered around the consortium will work on improving the ports in the Danube region. The idea is to make cargo ports on the most important European river a successful and efficient transport hubs and favorable centers for industrial investments.
As the leader of work package 4, the Agency will coordinate the work of all partners in order to find a solution for the integration of the Danube ports into a multimodal transport chain. As part of the work package, the Agency will organize working meetings and regional workshops in 2021, and on that occasion will host more than 30 international participating organizations.
DIONYSUS will last for 30 months, and besides Agency, relevant institutions from the countries of the Danube basin, such as Pro Danube Romania, the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering, University of Belgrade, the Port of Ens, the Port of Vienna and others, will participate.
