The Agency will host the next EFIP meeting

Vuk Perovic, director of the Port Governance Agency Vuk Perović participated in the General Assembly of the European Federation of Inland Ports (EFIP), held in Vienna. On that occasion, it was confirmed that the Agency will host the next meeting of the federation in Belgrade, on October 19 and 20.

Participants of the meeting discussed the revision of the TEN-T Regulation and the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Directive. The importance of these two documents for the further development of inland water transport and the European transport network was highlighted. In addition, a visit to the port in Vienna was organized.

At the session, Perović presented the achieved results and development projects of the Agency, among which the most important are "Sail through Serbia" and "Green Ports". He said that cooperation with the federation contributed to the revision of the TEN-T Regulation and the inclusion of other Serbian ports on the Core and Comprehensive TEN-T network. According to him, the port in Pančevo will be included on the Core network, and the ports in Sremska Mitrovica, Smederevo and Prahovo will be included on the Comprehensive network.

In regard to the organization of the next EFIP meeting in Belgrade, he stated that it is a good opportunity for representatives of ports and port authorities from all over Europe to get to know Serbia and waterway transport in the Republic of Serbia.

Members of the European Federation of River Ports will pay special attention to new projects for the improvement of the port sector, bearing in mind that inland waterway transport significantly contributes to the achievement of the goals of the Green Deal, it was concluded at the assembly.
