Director of the Port Governance Agency Vuk Perović visited Kladovo and met with the leaders of that municipality and representatives of the port operator of the international passenger terminal. The topic of discussion was the development of international passenger traffic and the marina.
During the meeting, the Agency's initiative to make the international passenger terminal in Kladovo the first place to install a power supply system for cruise ships from the shore was discussed. Perović pointed out that, in accordance with energy transition trends, this type of supply will significantly contribute to the increase in the number of port calls in our country. He stated that Kladovo is one of the municipalities included in the project "Awake the Danube" with the aim of promoting cruising in Upper and Lower Danube. "In accordance with the Government's action plan, we will continue to open new international passenger terminals and promote the nautical potentials of Serbia," he said.
Together with the management of the municipality and the port operator, Perović visited the location of the future marina in the center of Kladovo. Proximity to landmarks, such as the Fetislam fortress and many other cultural and tourist attractions, represent the advantages of this microlocation on the Danube. Investing and developing infrastructure projects in the area of passenger waterway transport contributes to economic growth and local economic development, it was concluded during the tour.
