Port operator for passenger terminal in Šabac selected

The Port Governance Agency has signed a contract for performing port activities with the company "GEO-PROJEKT SM" Ltd., making it the operator of the international passenger terminal in Šabac.

The contract is signed for a period of ten years, and the operator's obligations include investments in maintaining port infrastructure and the access waterway.

The Agency has implemented an investment in the construction of the international passenger terminal infrastructure in Šabac, which was opened in December of last year.

Šabac is one of the locations covered by the project "Sail through Serbia." The project aims to build missing nautical infrastructure: marinas, passenger terminals, and pontoons for canal and liner traffic, as well as raising public awareness of the benefits of nautics for promoting the country and increasing revenue.

With the opening of the terminal in Šabac, the infrastructure for cruising on the Sava River is completed. In the next period, efforts will be made to establish liner shipping that will connect Šabac, Sremska Mitrovica, and Belgrade.
