Initiative for on-shore power supply of cruisers

Representatives of the Port Governance Agency held a meeting with the business company "Đerdap Usluge", the port operator at the international passenger terminals in Smederevo and Kladovo.

Topic of the meeting was the Agency's initiative to introduce the supply of cruiserrs with electricity from the shore at the terminal in Kladovo. It was pointed out that examples of good practice of the cruise industry from Western Europe, in accordance with energy trends, show that there is a need for this type of power supply for vessels. The introduction of electric power supply to cruise ships would increase the number of port calls in Kladovo and improve the nautical season in Serbia.

It was agreed that in the following period the communication between the Agency and the port operator will be intensified, in order to realize the mentioned initiative.
