At the end of the third quarter of this year, the Port Governance Agency recorded 85 percent of applications submitted electronically out of the total number of applications received by the Agency, through the Electronic Application Portal, which is the largest share of the Portal since its implementation.
The Portal, which started operating in 2016, is an application for submitting taxpayer applications in passenger and freight traffic electronically and issuing invoices based on submitted applications and is designed to facilitate the daily business of taxpayers. In accordance with the strategic goals of the Government of Serbia aimed at digitalization of state administration and improving the quality of services, the Portal has been implemented as one of the tools that simplifies work.
The advantage of the Portal is that it is completely user oriented. Working in the application does not require IT experience, since taxpayers enter data through a few simple steps. Passenger transport and cargo handling are clearly divided. Taxpayer enters data taken over from the comprehensive database of vessels, locations and types of cargo into the application. The electronically submitted application arrives in real time at the Agency's services for immediate processing. The Agency's team provides constant support to users in case of any questions about the operation of the application.
The head of the Center for General Affairs, Vladimir Pavlović, points out that in the previous period, it was shown that PEP significantly saves time and reduces business costs of users, such as printing materials and sending applications by mail. "Bearing in mind that every year we record an increase in the number of users who submit applications electronically, the Agency will continue to improve the functionality of the Portal. In this way, we will further enhance efficiency and productivity in everyday work, in line with the digital agenda of the Serbian Government," concluded Pavlovic.
