Director of the Port Governance Agency, Vuk Perović participated in the 12th Danube Business Forum, which was held in Vrdnik on September 26 and 27. The conference brought together representatives of business, science, culture and the media in order to promote Danube - the most important European river.
At the plenary session of the forum, Vuk Perović pointed out that the Danube is a bridge that unites peoples. "Serbia is a country of exceptional nautical potential for the development of port activity and nautical tourism. Recognizing this potential, together with the Government of Serbia, we launched a cycle of investment in the infrastructure of ports, international passenger terminals and marinas. This year we opened terminal in Kostolac, and in the coming period we will open two more, namely in Zemun and Sremska Mitrovica. During the pandemic, domestic tourism had a significant growth, so in this regard we are also investing in marinas, so tourist can get to know Serbia from the rivers," he said and added that the Agency recorded more than 1,000 port calls until September 1, and that we can now talk about the recovery of international passenger traffic.
Speaking about the improvement of cruising, Perović reminded that since 2017, the Agency has been successfully implementing the project "Awake the Danube", which aims to connect 11 towns on the Danube into a unique whole.
