Constanta Port Day

The manifestation "Constanta Port Day" was held on September 22 in Novi Sad. The Port Governance Agency participated in the event, which brought together representatives of the port industry and logistics.

At the meeting, it was said that the Port of Constanta during the previous year achieved the highest volume of traffic, namely 67.5 million tons of cargo. Of the total traffic in the port, sea traffic was 51.63 million tons and river traffic was 15.87 million tons of cargo. It was emphasized that, according to current data, there is a 17 percent increase in the turnover of goods compared to the first six months of last year.

When it comes to the transportation of cargo coming from Serbia, the volume of 8.9 million tons was recorded in 2021. The most common types of cargo transported from Serbia to Constanta were grain, fertilizers, iron ores, oil derivatives and metal products. Goods from Serbia passing through the Romanian port were most often destined for South Korea, Spain, Iran, Egypt, Iraq, Portugal, Sudan, Turkey and Italy.

At the conference, the Agency presented its previous results, development projects and plans. Special attention was paid to the cooperation with the Port of Constanta on the realization of the international project DIONYSUS, in which both port authorities participate.

This year's event enabled the networking of the business community and the creation of new partnerships, with the aim of improving port activity in Serbia and Romania.
