The "Danube Business Talks 2022" conference was held on October 12 and 13 in the Austrian city of Linz under the slogan "Green Deal - Green Danube. Climate-friendly transport axis". The event organized by viadonau brought together representatives of the public and private sectors in the Danube region.
The conference discussed how inland navigation can contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in the European transport sector. In addition, climate-friendly fuels that could be used in water transport in the future were discussed. The goal of the discussion was to provide a framework for the development of cross-border solutions to strengthen the Danube region on the European transport network.
Vuk Perović, director of the Port Governance Agency, participated in a session dedicated to opportunities and trends in international passenger traffic.
Perović presented the nautical potential of Serbia and spoke about projects in the area of river passenger transport. He pointed out that the Agency is investing in the construction of international passenger terminals in Serbia. He announced that the new terminals on the Danube and Sava will be opened in the coming period.
Bearing in mind that tourists from Western Europe, America, Japan, Mexico visit Serbia from cruise ships, passenger terminals connect our country with the whole world, he emphasized. According to him, the Agency, together with the Government of Serbia, will continue to invest in the development of passenger terminals and to promote them in the domestic and international frameworks.
