Vuk Perovic, acting Director of the Port Governance Agency attended on Sunday, March 26 ceremony marking the beginning of the nautical-tourist season 2017.
The season is open to the arrival of the two ships 'Viking Lif' 'and' 'Thomas Hardy'.
Ships with guests from Germany, Canada and America sailed into International passenger terminal "Luka Beograd".
Cruiser "Thomas Hardy„ five-star hotel is a 20 days out of the factory in Belgrade, while the "Viking Lif" largest river cruise ship in the world.
Perovic said that the Agency in the previous year recorded more than 950 of passenger ships, which represents an increase of approximately 6% compared to 2015. Number of passengers according to him has increased by 4%.
He added that the Agency has so far declared five new port areas and that in the future can be expected a public call for the selection of port operators. In addition to the three existing passenger terminals in Belgrade, Novi Sad and Donji Milanovac, he announced the public calls for the port in Smederevo and Kladovo.
"I think that this year will be the first when we can talk about the thousandth landing of a passenger ship in Serbia", concluded Perovic.
